It's hard to imagine a 100% cotton swimming short in 2023, with our proliferation of synthetic water fabrics and swimwear, but these wouldn't have been so out of place in the 1960s and 70s... McCoy's Summer Cord Swim Shorts are a reproduction of a pair of trunks from that era, originally made from a soft and lightweight narrow wale corduroy.
Popular amongst surfers, especially along the West coast and in California, these shorts would quickly become faded from a combination of sunlight, seawater, sand abrasion, and repeated washes - this paired with the already short inseam length to create the iconic beach bum/surfer aesthetic of the 1970s.
Featuring a comfortable elasticated waistband, there are two comfortable hand pockets at the sides and one more button & flap coin pocket for storing your favorite small rocks or beach objects. They're sewn up with 100% cotton thread, and have the usual custom woven labels from McCoy's.
